The city offers various possibilities for active recreation.
For example you will find one of the biggest and nicest outdoor swimming pools of the region, an indoor swimming pool and several hiking trails and sports facilities. Frankenthal is also known for its successful Hockey Team, which has won several prices already.
At the eastern part of the town the recreation area "Rheinaue" starts which connects Frankenthal with the river Rhine and where you can go for walks in a beautiful landscape.
